BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku today asserted that the interim government cannot afford to fail.

"This government was formed through the sacrifice of the student movement, and if it fails, the blood of our martyrs will have been in vain," Tuku remarked.

He emphasized that the democracy, for which so many gave their lives, must be realized through free and fair elections.

Tuku made these statements during a press briefing at the Tangail Press Club, held in connection with the 'Bindubasini Football Championship.'

Addressing the demand for the right to vote, Tuku expressed confidence that the interim government would organize elections in a timely manner. "We all hope that the people of the country will be able to exercise their voting rights through a transparent and fair electoral process," he added.
