Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman, Barrister Andalib Rahman Partho, expressed optimism over the recent bilateral discussions between Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling it a positive step for Bangladesh. According to Partho, the talks addressed several key issues and yielded fruitful outcomes that would benefit the country.

Partho made these remarks in response to media questions earlier this afternoon, emphasizing that the talks marked a promising development for bilateral relations between Bangladesh and India.

"We fully support the current government as it undertakes crucial reforms, and we remain hopeful about the upcoming elections, expected by December," Partho said.

He further added that the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) has strengthened considerably and will begin discussions on selecting candidates for the upcoming elections starting in June.

Partho also urged the government to prioritize election reforms, stressing that the people of Bangladesh are eager to have a say in choosing their representatives. "Elections must reflect the will of the people, and reforms are necessary to ensure that process is transparent and fair," he said.

In addition, Partho highlighted the importance of empowering local governments to better utilize available resources for the nation’s development. "Decentralized power will play a critical role in fostering sustainable progress across the country," he added.
