Convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP) Nahid Islam has said that the NCP will win the next national election with the support of the people.

“NCP cannot be stopped through attacks and obstructions. We are moving forward with the strength of the people, and we will win the next election with their support,” he said.

The NCP leader made the remarks while addressing a rally in front of the Narsingdi Municipality on Wednesday afternoon, as part of a nationwide programme following the party's July march titled "Build the Country."

He also alleged that there was a deep conspiracy against two student advisers of the interim government, who, he claimed, are not affiliated with the NCP but represent the mass uprising. "They are being forced to resign," he said.

The rally was presided over by organiser of the northern region, Shirin Akhter Shelly, and attended by several central and local leaders, including chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, senior joint convener Samanta Sharmin, and central committee members Abdullah Hill Limon and Abdullah Al Faisal.

It was moderated by Sarjis Alam, a lead organiser from the central convening committee’s northern division.

Meanwhile, Nasiruddin Patwari condemned attacks on NCP activists during a previous rally in Dhaka and warned that such actions would be met with a response.

He also said that the NCP stands against extortion and seeks to support the country’s business community by creating new employment opportunities, reports UNB.
