BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has strongly condemned the attack on Nurul Haque Nur and the violent incident in Kakrail, stating that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) denounces such acts.

In a Facebook post late Friday night (August 29), Tarique expressed his views.

He said that all pro-democracy allies, including the BNP and its partners, must exercise restraint and tolerance. “The true spirit of last year’s mass uprising must prevail. The country must break free from the current unrest and move towards people’s governance,” he stated.

“If we want to move Bangladesh forward, we must stay vigilant against the culture of repression, uphold the rule of law, and build a peaceful and stable nation. Only by empowering people through democratic means and ensuring justice, equality, and dignity for all can we succeed as a united nation,” he said.

Tarique also wished Nur a speedy recovery and urged the government to conduct a legal investigation into the incident.
