"The voters are exercising their votes in DUCSU election spontaneously. It is not exactly the same as the national elections, but it is a model. The DUCSU election can be a model for the national election," he said.
The Home Adviser made the remarks after a meeting of the Advisory Council on Law and Order at the Secretariat here.
He also said, "We want to give the gift of a peaceful and festive national election."
The Home Adviser said they held a discussion with the Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor about the DUCSU elections on Monday.
The Home Adviser said the voters in the DUCSU are representing the educated society.
The presiding officers and polling officers here are also highly educated, he also said.
The voting for the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and hall union elections has begun at 8:00 am today amid stringent security, reports BSS.
The voting will continue till 4 pm today.
The students are exercising their voting franchise spontaneously.
