Parliament becomes ineffective without opposition: Chief Whip

Chief Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad Nurul Islam Moni has said that parliament cannot be effective without the opposition party as it is the centre of all democratic activities. 

“Parliament is the center to solve the real problems of the country and it is the place where all laws of the country are made,” he said while exchanging views with local journalists at the Circuit House here last night. 

It was his first visit to his home district Barguna after assuming office as the Chief Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad.

Nurul Islam said that the opposition party will be given due importance in the current parliament and the issues raised by them will be considered seriously. 

He stressed on the coordinated role of the government and the opposition party to keep the parliament effective and vibrant. 

The chief whip said that the parliament is basically a place of representation of the people, where the active role of the opposition party is very important.

Earlier on his arrival at the circuit house, the Chief Whip was received by the district administration, police superintendent and party leaders. 

Barguna Press Club President Md Hafizur Rahman, former president Advocate Sohel Hafiz, general secretary Abu Zafar Md. Saleh, finance secretary Jahangir Kabir Mridha and other journalist leaders were present at the event, reports BSS.
