Patuakhali: At least 20 people, including security personnel, were attacked by workers at the RPCL 1320 MW thermal power plant at Kalapara in Patuakhali over workers' dissatisfaction over pay and allowances. Several vehicles and offices were vandalized. This incident happened on Monday around 9:30 am. Among the injured, workers Obaidul, Shaheen Molla, security guards Rakibul and Zidan have been sent to Patuakhali Hospital for better treatment.

According to local sources, the workers started protesting in the morning over salary and allowances. Meanwhile, when the police and security personnel working at the thermal power plant blocked them, the workers attacked them and vandalized the office of the Chinese. Later Kalapara police went and brought the situation under control.
