Attempted murder of Kalapara youth: Case filed 10 yrs after

Patuakhali: A case has been filed against Municipal Councilor Zaki Hossain Juku, Khairul Hasnat Khalid and 10 others in connection with the attempt to kill a young man named Ibrahim Ahsan Shaon (35) by cutting the veins of his hands and feet for demanding money in Kalapara of Patuakhali. Taking note of the complaint filed by the victim Shaon after 10 years of this horrific incident, the court ordered the OC, Kalapara to take the statement as FIR. Kalapara Senior Judicial Magistrate Ashish Roy's court gave this order on Monday afternoon. Court Bench Assistant Md. Mahbub Mia confirmed this order of the court.

It is said in the description of the case, on the evening of February 13, 2013, 10 armed terrorists, including Zuku, Khalid, Babu, Nahid, tried to kill Shaun on the road in front of Jhalak Fashion House in the city for demanding money. During this time, the victim's body was seriously cut with a sharp weapon. At one stage, the terrorists left the scene thinking that Shaon's death was certain as a result of cutting the veins of his hands and legs. When the locals tried to protect him, the fierce Zuku-Khalid forces gave chase with sharp weapons in their hands. After this hellish incident, if the victim's father prepares to file a complaint at the police station, the whole family along with the house is threatened to be burnt down, it has been mentioned in the case.

It is also said in the case, because the defendants cut the tendons of the victim's legs, knees and hands, after long treatment, the wound was healed externally, but the tendons of the hands and feet did not connect internally and he has to live with paralysis due to the lack of tendons. Finally ignoring all the threats, Shaun filed a case in the court to get the atrocity trial against him.

Shaon told the media after the filing of the case, "Even after 10 years, I have come to the court for the trial of the brutality of the Zuku-Khalid forces on me. I want everyone's cooperation to get justice.

In this regard, Councilor Zaki Hossain Zuku said, "I and my younger brother, being jealous of the popularity of Councilor Khalid, the political opponents have started a conspiracy.
