Flood causes major disruption in power supply closing 17 sub-stations out of total 163



Dhaka, Aug 24 - Flooding has caused a major disruption in electricity supply, affecting 4,971,321 people across 11 Palli Bidyut Samity areas. 

The flood has led to the closure of 17 sub-stations, out of a total of 163.

The impacted Palli Bidyut Samity areas include Chandpur-1, Noakhali, Feni, Lakshmipur, Cumilla-2, Cumilla-4, Chattogram-2, Chattogram-3, Cox's Bazar, Moulvibazar, and Brahmanbaria.

According to Power Division statistics, the shutdown of 60 electricity feeders has left the affected population without power.-UNB
