Light to moderate rains likely across Bangladesh: BMD

Dhaka, Aug 24 - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday predicted light to moderate rains across the country in 24 hours commencing 9 am.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions,” said a Met office bulletin.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Besides, the axis of monsoon troughs runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.

One of its associated troughs extends upto North Bay. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay. - UNB
