32 DU students given certificate on Diploma in Genocide Studies

Center for genocide studies of Dhaka University (DU) on Thursday distributed certificate among the students of Post-graduate Diploma programme on Genocide Studies.



Center for genocide studies of Dhaka University (DU) on Thursday distributed certificate among the students of Post-graduate Diploma programme on Genocide Studies.

DU Vice-Chancellor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman distributed the certificates among 32 students who passed students at a ceremony Thursday, chaired by the centre Director Dr Imteaz Ahmed, said a press release.

Congratulating the students, Akhtaruzzaman said the spirit of the great liberation war and the genocide in Bangladesh should be carried from generation to generation with non-communal and humanitarian values.

Dhaka University was at the center of the genocide in 1971, he added.

He said every establishment of this university was attacked and many teachers, students, officers and employees of the university were martyred.
