The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has launched a special check post operation to enhance law and order in the city.

Following directives from DMP Commissioner Md Mainul Hasan, the initiative targets illegal activities, including the recovery of weapons, drugs, and stolen goods, while also working to prevent robberies.

Deputy Commissioner (Media) Talebur Rahman announced the operation, which began at 4 PM on Monday. Check posts have been established in key locations such as Basila in Hazaribagh, Babubazar in Kotwali, Postogola Bridge in Shyampur, and several others throughout the metropolis.

The operation will run in two shifts daily: from 4 PM to 12 AM and from 12 AM to 8 AM. The DMP is urging cooperation from city residents, as well as drivers and passengers entering Dhaka, to support this vital security effort.
