The bomb threat was communicated to authorities by an anonymous caller during the flight’s journey. "We received a bomb threat regarding Biman's Rome-Dhaka flight, BG-356. The aircraft landed safely at 09:20 AM with 250 passengers and 13 crew members on board. All passengers were safely disembarked and escorted to the terminal," said HSIA Executive Director, Group Captain Kamrul Islam, in a statement.
Following the landing, the flight was secured within a safety perimeter, and airport authorities initiated standard security protocols to assess whether any actual threat was present.
"We are currently following all procedures to ensure the safety of all individuals involved. Further details will be shared with the media once the situation has been fully assessed," the executive director added.
Law enforcement agencies have taken control of the area, and the investigation is ongoing.
