Stock market sees upward trend in early trading

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s primary capital market



Dhaka, Nov 27 - The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s primary capital market, witnessed an upward trend in the early hours of trading on Wednesday.

Trading activity picked up after 10:30 am, with a steady increase in the indexes continuing until noon. During this two-hour window, the DSE recorded significant activity as shares and units of 6.84 crore were exchanged through 63,622 transactions, amounting to a total trade value of Tk 184.1 crore.

A total of 388 companies participated in trading. Among them, prices of 289 companies increased, 47 declined, and 52 remained unchanged.

The main index DSEX increased by 16.47 points to 5159.47 points, the DSES Shariah index was up by 10.77 points to 1159.28 points, and the DS30 special blue chip rose by 7.01 points to 1901.31 points during the first 2 hours on Wednesday.-UNB
