Dhaka, Oct 7 - Key indices at both the Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges declined in the first hour of trading on Tuesday, with most companies witnessing a drop in share prices.
At the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the benchmark index DSEX fell by 16 points in early trading.
The Shariah-based DSES dropped by 2 points, while the blue-chip DS30 index lost 13 points.
Out of the issues traded, prices increased for 122 companies, declined for 206 and remained unchanged for 66.
Shares and units worth over Tk 450 crore were traded on the DSE during the first hour.
Meanwhile, at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the overall index fell by 17 points.
Of the 149 companies traded, prices rose for 57, declined for 82 and remained unchanged for 10.
The CSE recorded transactions worth over Tk 3 crore during the first hour of trading. - UNB
