Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury has called for a reformed international financial system and enhanced technology support to address critical social development needs.

He made the remarks while speaking at the sixty-third session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD63) at the UN Headquarters in New York on Tuesday, according to message received here today.

The permanent representative emphasized the importance of international cooperation in bridging existing gaps for sustainable and inclusive development, reports BSS.

Referring to the Bangladesh government's thrust in eliminating poverty, unemployment and net carbon emission, the permanent representative also outlined Dhaka's efforts to address impacts on climate change through adaptation and mitigation programs in spite of its resource constrains.

He also stressed the need for renewed global commitments in financing, technology transfer and capacity-building for creating a just, inclusive and resilient future.
