Millions of users worldwide faced sudden website outages as a major Cloudflare disruption affected both international and domestic sites.

Visitors trying to access platforms including social media service X and film review site Letterboxd encountered error messages indicating the pages could not load "due to a Cloudflare problem."

Cloudflare, a key internet infrastructure provider, confirmed the issue and said it was actively working on a fix. “We are aware of an issue that may be impacting service for multiple customers. Investigation is underway, and updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available,” the company stated.

As a provider of critical web services — including protection against cyberattacks and traffic management — even a minor fault in Cloudflare’s system can trigger widespread disruptions.

Down Detector, the platform monitoring website outages, was also temporarily affected. Once operational, it recorded a sharp rise in reports of global website disruptions.

Users impacted by the outage often saw internal server errors within Cloudflare’s network, accompanied by the prompt: “Please try again in a few minutes.”

The total number of websites affected by the outage has yet to be confirmed.
