Tourist arrival at Kuakata has fallen drastically due to heavy rainfall.



Patuakhali: The life of the people of Kuakata coast has become almost stagnant in the last few days. Sea and rivers have risen water in the lower part of the coast and have entered the houses of the people. Agricultural land is now under water. People of the day laborers have become unemployed. Tourists have started to decrease in Kuakata. Many tourists are canceling the booking of the residential hotel in Kuakata in adverse weather conditions.

Mohammad Apu, director of the residential hotel in Kuakata, said, 'There are 20 rooms in our hotel. Yesterday there were 5 bookings. Today, there are only 5 bookings which will be gone in the afternoon. Kuakata is becoming empty during the year. '

Tourist Police Inspector Hasnain Parvez of the Kuakata Zone said that many tourists come to Kuakata to see the waves in the hostile weather.

In excessive rain and hostile weather we are warning them about coming to the beach. Tourists are leaving because of the increase of rain.

Meanwhile, thousands of people from the 12 unions of Kalapara upazila have become waterlogged during the pause. People are traveling with bananas or small dinghy boats. Many roads are still submerged under water. The presence of students of most educational institutions was only a few. It was reported that snakes took shelter in the residents of people in different villages in the heavy rainfall. Aman seedlings have been destroyed. As a result, the farmer has been worried about Aman crops this year. Vegetable farmers have been digested in the field. There has also been an extreme crisis of goat food. Farmers have kept their cows safely in the high places.

Munsur Ali, a farmer of Tiakhali union of Kalapara upazila, said that they were in the water in their houses. He has cooked and eating and drinking in a school. 

Abdul Jabbar, a farmer from Chungapasha village of Chakamia union, said his source of income is the land. This year, he was worried about the Aman crop because of the wasted seedling in the water.

Motaleb, a farmer in Adampur village of Nilganj union, said that the water had been imprisoned for three days. He is traveling with the Dinghyboat.

Tiakhali Union Parishad Chairman Mahmudul Hassan Sujan Mollah said that for two days, he has been working to eliminate waterlogging in the area. - Gofran Biswas Palash
