2 Kuakata restaurants fined Tk3 lakhs for unhealthy environ

Patuakhali: a mobile court has fined two food hotels named Baisakhi Restaurant and Gazi Restaurant for preparing food in unhealthy environment, throwing hotel waste and dirty water into the sea in the tourist town of Kuakata with a total of three lakh taka.

On Friday afternoon Kalapara Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Kaushik Ahmed imposed the fine.

It is known that the waste and dirty water of two hotels near Kuakata beach were being dumped into the sea through pipes for a long time. This penalty was imposed based on the complaints of the locals.

Kalapara Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Kaushik Ahmed said that food preparation, supply and hotel waste and waste water were being polluted in the sea in an unsanitary environment.
