Bangladesh and Nepal have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cross-border tourism and boosting people-to-people connectivity.

The pledge was made at the Nepal-Bangladesh Tourism Meet held in Dhaka on Friday, aimed at unlocking new opportunities in the travel sector and enhancing bilateral cooperation.

Jointly hosted by the Embassy of Nepal and the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), the event was themed "Neighbourly Nepal: Land of Lifetime Experiences" and brought together key stakeholders from both nations.

Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari, speaking as the chief guest, noted Nepal's growing popularity among Bangladeshi travellers, thanks to its natural beauty, rich culture, and diverse adventure experiences. He described tourism as a celebration of the long-standing friendship between the two countries and urged tour operators to forge stronger ties.

NTB Director Rohini Prasad Khanal presented Nepal’s tourism offerings—from trekking and paragliding to spiritual, wellness, and medical tourism—inviting Bangladeshis to "connect with Nepal and return home with unforgettable stories."

Bangladesh's Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, AKM Moniruzzaman, stressed tourism's role in strengthening regional ties and proposed joint tourism packages to promote both countries as complementary destinations.

Other speakers included Deputy Chief of Mission of the Nepalese Embassy, President of ATAB Abdus Salam Aref, and Chairman of the Asian Tourism Fair Mohiuddin Helal.

B2B and networking sessions were held to encourage business collaboration between travel operators. The Nepali delegation included NTB officials and representatives from 13 travel agencies, while over 150 participants from Bangladesh’s tourism sector attended the event.
