Bangla Hilli Customs C&F Agent Association general secretary Jamil Hossain Chalanta said on the occasion of Durga Puja, the import and export activities through the land port will be closed for seven consecutive days from Thursday (October 19) to Wednesday (October 25) due to the application of Exporters and Clearing Agents Association of India.

From next Thursday (October 26) activities will resume as usual, he added.

Panama Hili Port Link Limited public relations officer Sohrab Hossain Mallik Pratap said although trade between the two countries is closed, the loading and unloading operations of the port are normal on other days except the official holidays.

Hili Immigration Checkpost OC Sheikh Ashraful Alam said the movement of passengers through Hili Immigration Checkpost is normal.
