Bangladesh and the United States agreed on some more issues on the third and final day of the second round of trade talks held in Washington DC on Friday.

However, some issues still remain unresolved. Both sides have decided to continue inter-ministerial discussions.

Then, representatives of the two countries will sit in discussion again. The talks can be held virtually and in presence. It is expected that the time and date of the talks will be decided very soon, according to a statement from the Chief Adviser (CA) office.

The Bangladesh Commerce Adviser, the Commerce Secretary and Additional Secretary will return home today (July 12). They will visit Washington DC again if necessary.

In the wake of the three-day talks, Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin and National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman are optimistic that a positive position can be reached within the stipulated timeframe.

Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin led the Bangladesh delegation in Washington DC.

National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman, Chief Adviser's Special Assistant on ICT and Telecommunications Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb joined the talks virtually from Dhaka.

Senior government officials and experts also joined the talks virtually, reports BSS.
