Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has called on Malaysian businesses to invest in Bangladesh, highlighting the interim government’s recent efforts to create a more business-friendly environment.
Speaking at a business forum on Bangladesh–Malaysia trade and investment opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Yunus said that in the past, business in Bangladesh had not progressed as it should. However, in the "New Bangladesh," significant opportunities are emerging, particularly for international investors.
“Bangladesh is striving to become business-friendly in every possible way. I see unlimited prospects in a changing Bangladesh,” he said, noting the country’s young and creative population. He urged investors to tap into the potential of the Bangladeshi diaspora worldwide, many of whom are eager to contribute to the nation’s growth.

Presentations were also given by Vivek Sood, CEO and Managing Director of Axiata Group; Tengku Muhammad Taufik, President and Group CEO of Petronas; and Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir, Managing Director of Khazanah Nasional.
