Train ticket demand higher than capacity

Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has said every year huge number of home-goers fail to purchase their desired train tickets during the Eid- festivals due to lack of supply.
“It is very difficult to manage the ticket demand and capacity. People have to suffer until the problem is resolved”, the minister said.
The minister said this while speaking at a trolley receiving ceremony at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital on Saturday. Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd has given 50 trollies for passengers.     
Nurul Islam Sujan said online ticket sale has gained popularly in the developed countries. We are trying to sell tickets through online so that passengers can collect tickets from their homes.
Online ticket sale depends on experience, but it is facing some problems. We are trying to resolve the problems, he said.
The minister visited Kamalapur Railway Station and enquired about the facilities arranged to ensure smooth journey for home-bound people ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.He also talked to senior railway officials and passengers.
