The launch service on Barishal-Bhola  route has remained suspended ahead of BNP’s divisional rally slated for Saturday.
No launch left Barishal and Bhola terminals on Thursday morning, causing huge sufferings to the passengers.
BNP leaders said the service has been stopped targeting BNP’s divisional rally.
Saiful Mridha, a passenger, said, “I came to the Barishal launch terminal on Thursday morning but came to know the launch service has been suspended. Then, I went to speedboat ghat and found the service suspended also.  So, I was forced to sit on here.”
BIWTA officials said an attack was carried out on the launch Awlad in Bhola yesterday. In protest, the launch service has remained halted since morning.  However, the launch operation on Mehdiganj-Majuchowdhuryrhat is normal.”
