Benapole Station Master Shahiduzzaman said the train carrying 141 passengers left Benapole for Dhaka at 1 pm on Thursday.

The ‘Benapole Express' train resumed its operation from Jashore’s Benaople on Thursday, five days after its closure following an arson attack by unidentified miscreants that left four people dead and scores injured in Dhaka’s Gopibagh on January 5.

Benapole Station Master Shahiduzzaman said the train carrying 141 passengers left Benapole for Dhaka at 1 pm on Thursday.

The train taking a total of 832 passengers from several stations in Jashore and other districts will reach Dhaka at night, he said.

Four people were killed after arsonists set fire to the Benapole Express train at Gopibagh in Dhaka two days before the general election.

Following the attack on January 5, the railway authorities decided to suspend the movement of Dhalarchar and Benapole Express trains that night for an indefinite period.
