The ferry services between Aricha - Kazirhat resumed after 9.30 hours of suspension for poor visibility as the dense fog blanketed the river route of the Jamuna on Monday.

BIWTC Deputy General Manager (DGM) Shah Mohammad Khaled Newaz said the ferry movement was suspended from 10.40 pm on Sunday to 8.10 am on Monday due to poor visibility for dense fog.
During the suspension Begum Sufia Kamal and Shah Ali were stopped at Aricha Ghat, and Beer Shreshtha Ruhul Amin ferry was at Kazirhat Ghat while Begum Rokeya ferry loaded with vehicles and passengers was in the middle of the Jamuna river, he said.
Meanwhile, ferry movement between Paturiua-Daulatdia river route was suspended for about 4 hours from 3.20 am to 7.00 am on Monday for the dense fog disruption. Five ferries were at Daulatdia, one at Paturia and three were in the middle of the river Padma loaded with vehicles and passengers, said BIWTC DGM Shah Mohammad Khaled Newaz.
During this period all kinds of engine driven and other boats were suspended, the sources added.
