Chapainawabganj, Jul 29 -Bus services on Chapainawabganj-Rajshahi route remained suspended for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, causing immense suffering to commuters.

The suspension follows an attack on a bus driver of Chapainawabganj allegedly by transport workers of Rajshahi on Saturday.

In retaliation, a Rajshahi-bound bus was vandalised in Chapainawabganj.

As no buses were running, passengers were forced to travel in CNG-run autorickshaws and other mini vehicles, paying extra fares.

Chapainawabganj transport leader Anarul Islam said efforts are underway to resolve the conflict.

A meeting between transport owners and workers from both districts is scheduled to be held at 11 am today (Tuesday) at the Rajshahi Bus Owners Association office. - UNB
