Police recovered the hanging body of Tanvir Hasan Shuvo, an additional director of Bangladesh Bank, from a flat in the capital’s Mugda area on Tuesday night.

Md Zahid Hasan, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Sabujbagh Zone, said police rushed to the scene after being informed by neighbours.

They broke open the door of the flat and found Shuvo hanging inside the room, he said.

The DMP official said they recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police were collecting evidence and verifying information to uncover the mystery surrounding the death, reports UNB.

“We are investigating the incident with utmost importance. It cannot be confirmed at this stage whether it was a suicide or a death caused by any other reason. The matter will be clear after the investigation and receipt of the autopsy report,” Zahid Hasan said.
