Man found dead in Kushtia field
An unidentified man, aged about 30, was found dead at a field in Kamalpur area of Daulatpur upazila in Kushtia district on Wednesday.
Locals said they saw several jackals tugging at an object in the field around 6:15am and later noticed the body of a man covered with grass and straw.
Parts of the body had been scavenged by the jackals.
On information, a team from Daulatpur Police Station recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue, said Khaledur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur Police Station.
Police said they were investigating the incident, said OC.
“Some parts of the body, including the face, have been damaged. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased. A CID crime scene team is coming from Jhenaidah for this purpose,” he said.
However, the body was dumped here two to three days ago, reports UNB.
Additional Superintendent of Police Delwar Hossain of the Bheramara-Daulatpur Circle said “Efforts are underway to identify the deceased. Necessary legal action will be taken after the deceased is identified and the investigation is completed.”
