2 farmers die from snakebites in Dinajpur

Two farmers died after being bitten by poisonous snakes in Birol and Birganj upazilas of Dinajpur district on Friday.

The deceased were Ranajit Chandra Shil, 38, son of later Kalindra Chandra Shil of Govindrapur village under Birol upazila and Abdur Rauf, 55, son of late Kalu Mohammad of Chauliya Uttarpara village under Birganj upazila.

Moslem Uddin, chairman of Dhamir union parishad under the Birol, said a poisonous snake bit Ranajit while he was nursing paddy on his land in the morning.

He was rushed to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital where physicians declared him dead, he said.
Moreover, farmer Rauf faced same fate when he was collecting hay from a haystack for cattle in the morning.

He succumbed to his injuries on his way to the Rahim Medical College from the upazila health complex for better treatment, reports UNB.
