Couple Electrocuted in Gazipur’s Kapasia

A couple was tragically electrocuted on Friday in Seldia village, Kapasia upazila, Gazipur. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Shahidullah Bhuiyan, 55, and his wife Ferdousi Akter, 40.


According to Sub-Inspector Abdul Halim of Kapasia Police Station, Shahidullah had installed an electric motor near his house to pump water from a pond for fishing. While attempting to turn on the motor, he was electrocuted.

In an effort to rescue him, Ferdousi Akter was also electrocuted.

Locals rushed to help, but both victims were in critical condition and died on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
