Samiul is suspected to have killed his wife and sister-in-‌law.

Brahmanbari, Mar 3 – A 22-year-old woman and her sister were killed allegedly by her husband at Kasba in Brahmanbaria district early Monday.

The deceased were identified as Juthi Akter, wife of Samiul Islam and her sister Smriti Akter, 12. Both of them were daughters of Roushan Ali of Dhajanagar village in the upazila.

Quoting family members, Abul Quader, officer-in-charge of Kasba Police Station, said that Samiul, son of Zakir Hossain of Brahmanpara upazila in Cumilla district, married Juthi one and a half years ago.

Juthi along with her sister and brother Zahid Hossain used to live there as her mother is in jail in a case.

Juthi came to her father’s house one month ago due to a family feud with Samiul.

Samiul went to his in-laws' house last week.

On Sunday night, Samiul and his brother-in-law Zahid went to bed after having dinner.

At the dead of night, Zahid woke up and found Samiul missing. Later, he went to the house of his sisters and found them unconscious.

Hearing screams of Zahid, local people found the two sisters dead.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police suspected that Samiul might have strangulated the two sisters dead using a pillow. - UNb
