Jubo League leader found dead in cattle shed in Sirajganj

Police recovered the half-decomposed body of a local Jubo League leader from a cattle shed in Tarakandi village of Kazipur upazila on Friday.

The deceased, Yusuf Ali Swapon, 40, was the son of Iman Ali Khan from Bir Shubhagacha village in the upazila and served as the Joint General Secretary of the local Shubhagacha Union unit Jubo League.

Nur Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kazipur Police Station, said Swapon had been living alone in a separate room in the cattle shed in that remote area for several weeks.

On Friday morning, locals smelled a strong odor emanating from the shed and informed the police. On information, police arrived at the spot and recovered the body.

The body was later sent to the Sirajganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The OC said that the exact cause of death is not yet known, but the post-mortem report will reveal the true cause.

A case has been filed with the concerned police station regarding the incident. - UNB
