Two sisters drown in Maheshpur

Two sisters drowned in a pond in Maheshpur this morning.


The deceased were Afia Khatun, 12, a class-V student and daughter of Shafiqul Islam, and Sathia Khatun, 8, a class III student and daughter of Khairul Islam. Both were from Khosalpur village under Nepa union in Maheshpur upazila.

The girls, who were cousins, drowned while bathing in the pond, said Union Parishad member Enamul Huq.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Maheshpur Police Station Sajjadur Rahman confirmed the deaths of the two girls, reports BSS.
