Two children drown in Gaibandha

Two minor children drowned in a pond at Taluk Sarbananda village under Sundarganj upazila on Friday.


The victims were Subaita Khatun, 5, of Sadullapur upazila, and Rokaiya Akhter, 4, of the local village.

Locals said the girls were playing near the pond when Rokaiya slipped into the water. Subaita drowned trying to save her, reports BSS. 

Their bodies were later recovered by family members.

Sundarganj Thana OC Abdul Hakim Azad confirmed the incident.
