Dead body.

A father allegedly killed his drug-addicted son with a cutting tool in Demra’s Bamail Madhyapara area on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Bakir Hossain, 25, an auto-rickshaw driver.

The father, Kashem, was arrested and sent to court.

Police recovered Bakir’s body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

OC Mahmudur Rahman of Demra Police said a dispute over drug money escalated when the father pushed his son, causing the cutting tool to pierce his chest.

“A case has been filed, and Kashem remains in jail custody,” he added.

The body was later handed over to the family after the post-mortem. - UNB
