Dhaka, Sept 17 — A 75-year-old man died after falling from the roof of a nine-storey building in the capital’s Hazaribagh on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Sanatan Kumar Das, son of the late Suresh Chandra Das, and a resident of the same area.

He was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 10:45 pm with critical injuries, where on-duty doctor declared him dead.

His son, Rajat Chandra Das, said his father was walking on the ninth-floor roof of their house in the evening when he suddenly lost consciousness and fell.

"My father was seriously injured. We first took him to a local hospital. Later, we transferred him to DMCH for advanced treatment, but the doctors said he had already passed away," he said.

Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the DMCH police camp, said the body has been kept at the emergency department morgue and the matter has been reported to Hazaribagh Police Station. - UNB
