Two electrocuted in Shariatpur

Two men were electrocuted at Bakailpara in Kodalpur union under Gosairhat upazila of the district early today.


The deceased were identified as Alamgir Daptari, 52, inhabitant of Dewanpara village, and Nur Alam Mollah, 40, son of Hanifa Mollah of the same area.

Gosairhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Borhan Uddin said the victims were electrocuted while fishing using an electric motor to irrigate a pond, reports BSS. 

Locals rescued them and took them to Gosairhat Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead.
