Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said on Friday.

The highest temperature on Thursday was 36.5 degrees Celsius in Rangamati and Kumarkhali in Khulna, while Dhaka recorded 34.2 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning are likely at one or two places over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, with isolated hailstorms, in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00am on Friday.

Weather elsewhere in the country may remain mainly dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky, reports UNB.

According to the BMD, a trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas, while a seasonal low is positioned over the South Bay.
