The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted light rain or drizzle in some parts of the country over the next 24 hours, starting this morning.

"Light rain or drizzle is likely to occur at one or two places in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, and Sylhet divisions, as well as in the regions of Noakhali and Cumilla. Elsewhere, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky," according to the forecast issued at 9:00 AM today.

A ridge of the sub-continental high extends up to Bihar and its adjoining areas, while a seasonal low lies over the South Bay.

Moderate to thick fog may occur in some places across the country from midnight to morning, and in some areas, it may persist until noon. Thick fog may temporarily disrupt air navigation, inland river transport, and road communication, reports BSS.

Night and day temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.

On Thursday, the country's highest temperature was recorded at 29.8øC in Teknaf, while the lowest temperature today was 9.8øC in Tetulia.

In Dhaka, the sun will set today at 5:44 PM and rise tomorrow at 6:39 AM.
