Rainfall likely in Dhaka, 7 other divisions

Dhaka, Apr 6 - Bangladesh Meteorological Department(BMD) has predicted rains at several places in  seven divisions of the country including Dhaka in 24 hours commencing 9am on Sunday.

“ Rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely at one or two places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” said a Met office bulletin.

Besides, mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping  Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions, Dinajpur, Sayedpur, Feni. Moulvibazar, Barishal and Patuakhali districts and it may continue, it added.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, it said.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said the bulletin.

Trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over the South Bay.

Country’s highest temperature was recorded at 38.5 degree Celsius in Rahshahi on Saturday while Dhaka’s highest temperature was 37.2 degree Celsius. - UNB
