Patuakhali: Two carcasses of dolphins have come to Kuakata beach. The two Irrawaddy dolphins are 8 and 3 feet long. Most of the bodies of the two dolphins were decomposed.

Kuakata Dolphin Conservation Committee member Jewel Rana spotted the two dolphins at around 11am today Thursday in the area adjacent to Jhowban area on the east side of zero point in Kuakata.

Jewel said, in the morning, on the way from the beach to Gangamati, I saw two dolphins lying here. Talking to the locals, I learned that these have been washed in by the tide.

Abul Kalam Azad, Mahipur Range Officer of the Forest Department, said that he came to know about the matter through the Dolphin Protection Committee. We are sending our field level officials to bury those under the soil.
