Two pythons are free in the wild after being rescued in Kalapara

Two pythons being freed in Kalapara on Saturday Sept 16 2023 after being rescued from the hands of snake charmers.



Patuakhali: Volunteers of Animal Lovers of Patuakhali's Kalapara branch rescued two 6 feet long Burmese python snakes and released them in the forest at Kalapara in Patuakhali. The two snakes were freed with the help of forest department in Lemburban area on Saturday.

Earlier, the two snakes were rescued when some people of the Bede community threatened the snake and demanded money in the municipality town of Kalapara.

Animal Lovers of Patuakhali's Kalapara branch team leader Rakayet Ahsan said that we rescued these two snakes from Kalapara town two to three days ago. The local shopkeepers called us and said that some people from the Bede community were asking for money by scaring the snakes. Later we rescued the snakes with the help of forest department.

Abul Kalam Azad, Mahipur Range Officer of the Forest Department, said Animal Lovers has been working for wildlife conservation for a long time. - Gofran Biswas Palash
