The government has announced the Hajj 2026 package, setting the minimum cost at Tk 4,67,167 per pilgrim, reflecting a reduction of Tk 12,000 in airfare.
Adviser to the Ministry of Religious Affairs AFM Khalid Hossain unveiled the details at an inter-ministerial meeting today, confirming three government-arranged packages for pilgrims.
The Special Hajj Package-1 is set at Tk 6,90,597, while Package-2 will cost Tk 5,58,881, and Package-3 is fixed at Tk 4,67,167. All packages include transportation and quality accommodation facilities.
In addition, the cost under private management through authorised Hajj agencies has been set at Tk 5,09,185 per pilgrim.
The adviser explained that Hajj arrangements are managed jointly by the Royal Saudi Government and sending countries, with Saudi Arabia retaining authority over policy decisions and expense determinations.
He noted that as the Saudi government has not yet finalised the costs for Hajj 2026, the current packages are based on estimates drawn from last year’s expenses. Any change in Saudi-imposed costs will directly affect the final package prices. Surplus amounts, if any, will be refunded to pilgrims.
The Hajj is expected to take place on 26 May 2026, subject to the lunar calendar. A total of 127,198 Bangladeshi pilgrims will be allowed to perform the pilgrimage, with the first Hajj flight scheduled to depart on 18 April 2026.
Last year, 87,100 pilgrims from Bangladesh performed the Holy Hajj, according to official records.
