Polls open for South Korea's general election: AFP

(BSS) South Korean voters started casting their ballots Wednesday in key legislative elections that will determine control of the country's parliament and whether President Yoon Suk Yeol can advance his socially conservative agenda.   

Voters who had been waiting outside were admitted to a polling station in Gwangjin district of Seoul at 6:00 am, AFP reporters saw, with citizens placing their ballot papers in a box in front of a watching official, to choose the country's next 300-seat parliament.
