China, Canada begin 1st formal talks since 2017

China and Canada's leaders began on Friday their first formal talks since 2017, with Xi Jinping meeting Prime Minister Mark Carney at an APEC summit in South Korea, Chinese state media reported.


Canada's relations with China are among the worst of any Western nation but both countries share being at the sharp end of US President Donald Trump's tariff onslaught, reports BSS.
