US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that his administration was maintaining constructive engagement with Venezuela’s interim leader Delcy Rodríguez and signalled he would be willing to meet her.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said relations with Venezuela’s current leadership were progressing positively. “Venezuela is really working out well. We’re working along really well with the leadership,” he said.
When asked whether he planned to hold talks with Rodríguez, who previously served as vice president under ousted leader Nicolás Maduro, Trump replied: “At some point I’ll be.”
