The High Court today ordered the concerned authorities to remove graffiti and posters on flyovers in the capital within the next two weeks and issued a rule asking why inaction of the authorities in doing so would not be declared illegal.

Besides, the court also ordered to form a monitoring team within the next 7 days to control poster activities on flyovers and fixed February 27 for the next order on the matter, reports BSS.

A High Court Division Bench consisting Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Ahmed Sohel passed the order along with the ruling after holding a hearing on a writ filed by Human Rights Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB), seeking instructions to remove graffiti and posters on the capital's flyovers.

Advocate Monzil Morsed, who stood on behalf of the petition before the court today told BSS that in the hearing, the court said, "The beauty of our city is being destroyed by these posters and wall arts. They must be removed and placed in the proper manner."
