The first return Hajj flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, carrying
over 400 pilgrims from Saudi Arabia, arrived here on Saturday.
The first flight carrying the Hajjis landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal
International Airport around 5.15 pm on Saturday, general manager of
Biman Bangladesh Airlines Khan Mosharraf Hossain told UNB.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan received the first band
of Hajj returnees at the airport.
The next return flight is expected to land at the airport around 3am on Sunday.
About 90,000 Hajj pilgrims went to Saudi Arabia from Bangladesh to
perform Hajj this year. The last return flight for the Hajjis will
arrive on November 19.
The Hajj flights carrying pilgrims to Saudi Arabia this year started
on September 7 and ended on October 8.
